comparisons?

ok so I happened to read this survey done by Mercer in the news from http://www.stuff.co.nz/ and was quite interested and went to find out how did Singapore and NZ rank in a few sections...the results were:

cost of living in SG: #14 out of top 50.

heh. so it is quite expensive to live in Singapore. somehow NZ was not in top 50 of most expensive countries to live in. so I suppose staying here is a good thing? hmm...well, let's look at other rankings...

quality of living in SG: #34.

so it's expensive to live in Singapore, and the quality of living is not THAT poor as compared to the other cities which weren't even on the top 50 list huh...HOWEVER...

quality of living in NZ: #5 (Auckland), #12 (Wellington).

New Zealand has a higher ranking than Singapore...strange though, how come Christchurch doesn't appear on the list, I don't think it was one of the cities which were compared, they only used the larger cities of Auckland and Wellington...ah well. so is it better to be in NZ?

health and sanitation in SG: #50.

Singapore is supposedly a "clean city". I guess it IS clean, well, so far the patients that I've talked to and who've asked me where I'm from, their main comment made was, "Singapore is so clean"!!! hmm...but then...

health and sanitation in NZ: #18 (Auckland & Wellington).

New Zealand is a much cleaner place? I'm not sure though...like what the criteria were. hmm. ah well.

anyway, that's something to think about. =)

it's my HOLS now!!! it's been good the past few weeks. Gen Med is fairly relaxing I'd say. I had my moments during the start of the run but hey, life goes on. God is good. the weekend away at the camp was good too, just taking a break to seek Him, and in the process learning more about myself. yeah...

I hope this hols will be a good break. although will have to work on assignments and essays, I hope going down to Dunedin will be...refreshing. =) Ah Ma and Ah Gong are getting married too! can't wait to see everyone again!!!
