A Long Wait (ticking clock)

The bells chimed twelve times as the lovers held hands, savoring the moment. They only had one minute together. Then, he had to leave, not that he wasn't going to return again. He just had some business to settle. Every hour as the bells sounded on the hour, she would count down to him coming back. He visited her regularly, around 65 minutes apart, for he could not bear to leave her longer than that. Each encounter lasted a minute, and time was very precious when they met. They said what lovers say and did what lovers do, for their relationship was built on those moments. "Would it last?", they sometimes wondered. But it all depended on the ultimate source of energy. For now, he was content with the fact that she was the reason that kept him going; and she was satisfied with his loving but maybe a little eccentric routine. That was what they were meant to do after all, to go around with this sole purpose in mind, for they had no other cares in the world.

It stood, silent in the night
Darkness surrounding it before
Moonlight pierced through
The clouds
Revealing its silhouette
How still it was
Unmoving in the wind
The skies started to clear
Stars now seen
Oh how they twinkled
Winking their presence to the world
Yet it was still there
Standing, undistracted
With a single focus in mind
No one, nothing
Could stop it now
Finally, inhaling
It stretched out its wings
Silver in the moonlight
Gazing down at the world
It leapt from the hill
Soaring in the wind
Dream took flight

had a relaxing holiday. back to school now. 5 more weeks and I'm done, time sure does fly huh. =)
