fragile life.

being with ICU for one day is enough to break my heart...
the tears threatened to spill,
but it wasn't the right place, the right time.

one's future taken away because of a mistake, misfortune, bad luck;
one's present shrouded by confusion and sedation;
one's past able to disappear any time in the blink of an eye.

I walk past teenagers holding cigarettes,
young people drinking till they pass out,
even a depressed person sitting by an apartment ledge.

how I wish they could see what I saw in ICU,
teach them how to cherish and treasure what they have,

cos then they'll truly know,

how awfully fragile life can be.
