anyway, last night was the first time I played guitar in front of a congregation. although a small group and they were mostly youths, fact was that I was plugged in and heard over the speaker! and I was miked up singing with the rest of the worship team too. hmm. there's always a time for firsts...think it went alright.
it was time to say goodbye to some of the cell group TIs. they were going off on their electives, after which they would start work when they returned. unforunately I won't be around in NZ for their graduation so yeah, who knows when I'll get to see them again, seeing how they're working outside Christchurch next year.
we had a cell group farewell dinner for the guys at Rotherams last week. it was good (although rather expensive) food and great company...
they were famous for the beef and lamb, and the oysters were really good too. think andrew found the oyster shot quite exciting huh?
although I only just recently joined the cell group, I wish I had spent a longer time there getting to know these guys better before they left...
yous will be missed. :)
wendy celebrated her 22nd (/80th) birthday at her place on monday...and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. it's like trying to get as many chances as possible to have gatherings for these guys before they leave!
then the final time before the goodbye. sleepover at wendy's on friday night, sent the 3 of them off on saturday morning...4ish am.
this was the only chance I had to take a photo with these 3 awesome TIs. will really miss you guys...
and as I said, the cell group will never be the same without you guys around. it won't ever feel "complete" now that you guys have left...seems like there's so many things happening at once. people leaving and all. I don't really know where my mind is focused for now. well, I know, but it's more important to do as it's required.
my kind of crazy love will do me no good if I follow my heart.
