friends are people. people with feelings. and feelings are able to be manipulated by circumstances or other people, quite easily sometimes.
it takes a long time to build up a friendship. and only if you put in the effort, time, energy, thought, whatever it takes. especially to make a good friend.
but it's all too simple to ruin one. it just takes a snap of your fingers, a blink of an eye; a slip of the tongue, a rash move. and it's gone.
how much are you willing to invest in a friendship?
how much does having a friend mean to you?
how much will you put in should it need to be salvaged?

I wonder how many friendships I've destroyed...

I disagree, true friendships aren't so easily broken.

in that case then it's most likely that I haven't actually made "real" friends. guess there's lots of people who are superficial casual hi-bye "friends"...and many of the people I know probably fall into that category. maybe I just haven't tried to BE a friend, that's why I don't HAVE true friends. hmm.
