there's a function for fences. when you spare some thought about it, it's either to keep people/things in, or looking at it another way, it's to keep people/things out.
there are reasons why fences are put up. particular reasons why people/things have to be kept in/out. each fence has its own purpose, and every fence is different.
there's a choice to be made when putting up a fence. a decision made beforehand as to why it's there, what it's supposed to do, who/what should be separated by it.
and it's time to mend my fence, broken by people trodding all over it because I chose to let them in. strangers whom I thought were safe to trust. wrong.
wasn't I ever taught that I should never talk to strangers?
